Although KioWare has many features you can configure, it can be installed, configured and run very quickly by using a default configuration and following the instructions below.
Note: Please make sure you read all the instructions - especially the instructions on how to Exit the Application Viewer.
Once you have run your application in KioWare, you will want to explore all the features within the Configuration Tool and decide which are appropriate for your application.
See Installation
The Configuration Tool is used to set up KioWare to your particular hardware and application. It can also be used to provide information to our customer support staff when problems are encountered.
Go to the Start Menu, then click on All Programs, then KioWare, and then KioWare Config Tool.
When the Configuration Tool initially starts, a dialog box is presented asking whether to load settings from KioWare, an XML file or the default settings. The user has the option to Never show this message again by checking a checkbox.

There is only one item in the Configuration Tool that is required for KioWare to run and that is the Start Page URL located on the General page. All other entries are either optional or are loaded with default values that will enable KioWare to run.

Similarly, when exiting the Configuration Tool, if there have been settings changed that have not been saved, then the following screenshot is displayed asking whether to save settings.

Clicking Yes will save settings and exit KioWare. Clicking No will exit KioWare without saving settings, and clicking Cancel will return to the Configuration Tool without exiting or saving settings.
If Yes is chosen on the previous dialog, then a dialog box will be presented asking whether to save settings to KioWare, an XML file or not to save. The user has the option to Never show this message again by checking a checkbox. For Quick Start purposes, click the Local Settings button.

Go to the Start Menu, then click on Programs, then KioWare, and then KioWare again. Your web application will display.
Go to the Start Menu, then click on All Programs, then KioWare, and then KioWare again. Your web application will display.
If the Application Viewer does not display your web application, check for all of the common problems listed below:
If you get a browser error such as HTTP 404 – File Not Found, then make sure the Start Page URL defined in the Configuration Tool points to the proper location.
If you get a KioWare Licensing Error, then confirm the License Code and License Level defined in the Configuration Tool License page are correct.
It is also useful to open Internet Explorer directly and try to display your application. If it loads successfully, then copy and paste the URL into the Start Page URL defined in the Configuration Tool. If it still doesn't load properly, then it is likely a problem with the web server or your application.
To exit the Application Viewer perform the following steps:
